More Crucial Habits to Help You Beat Distractions During this Pandemic

Aug 03, 2020

In our last article, we discussed two crucial habits that will play a very vital role in beating your distractions, that is, creating a tight bubble of focus and applying the no phone conversations rule. In a nutshell, what we said is that; an addiction to distractions is the death of your creative productions. When you give in to distractions, you lose your focus and experience what is called attention residue. So every time you are distracted, you become more attentive to your distractions. This way, your creativity levels and the ability to focus is low even before you start your day. This is why it is important to plan your day early, stick to your routine, and create your tight bubble of focus as we discussed in our last article. Without further ado, let us jump right into the last 2 crucial habits in this journey.

Apply solitude/ isolate yourself. I know this is a bit hard for most of you because it is in human nature to want to be around people since you feel more appreciated this way. This is why you want to see who liked your pictures, or if you have any new followers. It is not wrong because we just want to fit in, but you have to realize that great people do not get distracted by such small things when you focus and work on your dreams, you will command a following.

Learn to work on your gifts to become a pro, dominating your domain areas and greatness will not surpass you. During this time of so many uncertainties, you want to be sure of where your future is headed, isolate yourself in a place where you have no distractions, (this means leaving your phone away) no diversions and no bad energy will surround you.

You create an environment that closes out everything and positive energy start flowing. By doing this, your mind will settle down and you will be able to tap into your creativity easily. Great ideas will start flowing; you will be able to make sound decisions whether they concern your family or workplace. During this time, you will be surprised how good you are at something and your abilities; for the first time, you will appreciate yourself without the validation of others.

Join the 5 Am club. Own your morning, elevate your day. How you begin your morning sets a pace of how your day will be. Do not let distractions own your morning. Most of you wake up and the first thing you want to check is your phone. Surprisingly most of you will even wake up very early in the morning just to binge on TV series, play games, or just scroll down through your social media accounts. You waste precious time that will never be recovered and you become stagnant and disoriented. When you wake up early, plan your day well; meditate and pray during your devotion, journal down your plans, read something inspirational to power up your day and also write down what goals you want to achieve that day. If you do this, you will be able to beat your distractions and will have the power to say no to the unimportant things and only prioritize what is important in your day’s plan.

Waking up early is not a cup of tea for many people but you must realize that these are some of the habits that your system needs in this journey of success. You only need to train your body and in no time, it becomes part of your routine. Always remember this, for you to have different results from what people have, you must make sacrifices. My friends, I hope that today you will be compelled to make the necessary sacrifices.
