2021: Another Chance to Make Things Right

Jan 18, 2021

2021 is here with us despite the challenges we had faced in 2020. It is another opportunity for us to grow, learn, create a better future, and work on our visions with zeal.

Oprah Winfrey once wrote that a new year is a chance for us to get it right. What are your new year's resolutions? Do you see yourself achieving your goals? Especially those that you had forwarded to this year? What are you doing to ensure all your plans go as planned this year? All in all, what different thing are you doing this year?

I know I can ask all sorts of questions but change starts with YOU, your attitude, and your mindset. Your mind is a powerful thing that you need to work on this year if at all you want to make things right. Change your mindset and attitude.

Now, all of us, every single new year, we are a different person. I do not think we are the same person in all our lives. I usually hear most people say, "new year, new me," I guess it is a "new me" in a positive way especially when it comes to taking advantage of every opportunity that arises; celebrating our strengths, and building our resilience.

It is another chance for you to believe in yourself, take a leap of faith and believe there is a loving source; a sower of dreams just waiting to be asked to help you make your dreams come true. This new year stands before us, like a chapter in a book, waiting to be written and we can help only help write that story by setting goals.

I would like to know the goals you have for this year. It might be tempting to just grab your 2020 goals and update them; but I urge you to try a different style this time around, especially after all the upheaval of 2020.  Why? 2020 allowed us to re-examine ourselves; our goals, plans, careers, relationships, and priorities.

Think about goal setting differently this year; take a whole new perspective on who you want to be in your career and how you want to spend the next 12 months.

Reflect, renew, and reset. 2021 has new challenges for all of us and what matters is how you will respond to them and how you will apply 2020 lessons to grow and thrive in your career, relationships, leadership, and life.
