Impact Africa Consulting partnered with the KCB group to provide the bank with Environmental and social considerations(E&S) and Social &Environmental Management Systems (SEMs) services. We supported KCB Group with the development and review of SEMs as well as the development of an automated E&S categorization tool and the related trainings for the teams. Development of the automated tool was based on the International Finance Corporation 8 performance standard principles as well as other best practices relevant to the KCB group business. Additionally, Impact Africa spearheaded training within KCB Group which involved the development of training materials and the delivery of the same to the KCB Group Board, KCB (Kenya) Ltd as well as the bank’s senior management on E&S and sustainable finance.

On Wednesday 9th August 2023, our lead consultant Dr Edward Mungai initiated a dynamic ESG training session for one of Kenya’s visionary banks, Diamond Trust Bank. The ESG 101 course is meant to guide the bank’s management and senior teathrough the intricate landscape of sustainable finance. The session discussed the intricacies of ESG integration, impact measurement, risk management and ethical decision-making. This comprehensive training equipped DTB with the knowledge and tools to navigate the evolving landscape responsibly, fostering growth while nurturing a positive societal and environmental impact.
